2 Extraordinary reasons to celebrate Christmas

2 Extraordinary reasons to celebrate Christmas

Introduction

Every year, we tend to celebrate the joyous vacation of Christmas on the twenty fifth December. For many people, this vacation could be a time spent with family, friends, and treasured ones. Christmas could be a time of giving, of receiving, and of spreading cheer. But what’s actuality that means of Christmas? Why do we celebrate Christmas?

Here are Two extraordinary reasons to celebrate Christmas

  1.  Jesus takes our place as God

Christmas is the birth of Christ, God’s real Son. We know that the time of waiting for him was long and often painful-none more than Mary and Joseph. In this life, he came to seek and save the lost as only a father can do. Today, in a similar manner, God sent His only Begotten Son to seek and save those who are lost in sin. Christmas is not only a time to remember those special moments we all experienced alongside our families that day, but it is also a reminder to all that we too can be forgiven, set free from fear, and filled with joy! Join us at the birth of Jesus this December 31st!

Salvation is never far from us, but it’s never too late. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ is the ultimate atonement for our sins. Just allowing yourself to be close to Him through prayer and Bible study will bring you the peace, love, and hope that only come from believing in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

  1. Jesus brings light into a darkish world.

Do you remember a time the electricity went out, and you had to search in the dark for matches or a flashlight? Think of the world with no clear knowledge of God, his goodness, mercy, or love. Before Christ came, the darkness of sin was very powerful and overwhelming. Philosophers had theories about morality, goodness, and gods, but the world did not have the Light. The world was fumbling around in the darkness of sin, groping for answers but unable to find the ultimate life-giving truth and light that only comes from God.

In Christ, God sheds his light of salvation upon this world. The Israelites had God’s truth but not its fulfilment. They had a promise—a glimmering—but not the fulfilled reality. When Jesus came, he was the fulfilment of God’s promise to break humanity out of the shackles and darkness of sin and to bring them into the light of the glory and blessing of God.

Praise God for sending a saviour who takes our just judgement upon himself, welcomes the broken, and sheds light into our minds and hearts.

Conclusion

we discover the sunshine that breaks into the darkness of our lives and hearts, dynamical and drawing us out of darkness into a relationship with the sunshine.
